What’s solitary confinement like?

This video, by KQED News, is a 25 minute real-time take of Jeremy Beasley during his daily 90 minute allotted yard time at Pelican Bay. He has been in a secure housing unit (shu) for 15 years. Yard-time for SHU inmates at Pelican Bay means being locked up in (yet another) a windowless concrete pen with a ball:
