No More Jails! Statewide Mobilization to Sacramento

Movers and Shakers,
As we wrap up the holiday weekend and prepare for an abundant new year, Sin Barras is looking forward to ending 2013 with a big bang! Our statewide coalition, Californians United for a Responsible Budget (CURB), is mobilizing to California’s Board & State Community Corrections Board Hearing this Wednesday December 4th to oppose jail expansion and the governor’s priorities and we need all hands on deck.

Please circulate this around with your loved ones and community, find mobilization information and rsvp details HERE. The response from our communities have been spectacular, and we look forward to bringing a loud Santa Cruz County presence to the hearing. If you haven’t already RSVP’d, it’s not too late! Feel free to circulate this RSVP form to those you think would be interested in attending.

Lastly, whether you can or can’t make it up to Sac we’re ask supporters to help amplify our message next Wednesday. We need 100 supporters for our Thunderclap to work–a thunderclap allows us to send the same message from everyone’s social media accounts all at once. We’ve scheduled it for noon, as community members from across the state will be testifying before the Board of State and Community Corrections opposing jail expansion.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!
